ADISON HASTALIĞININ TEDAVİSİNE BÜTÜNSEL TIP YAKLAŞIMI/ A SAMPLE TREATMENT OF INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE ON THE ADISON DISORDER

SAMPLE PATIENT IS A MALE OF 48 YEARS OLD

Complaints: weakness, lethargy, fatigue, nausea, loss of appetite, dizziness or fainting, low blood pressure, diarrhea,  a decrease in the amount of body hair, inability to cope with the stress, a continuous feeling of cold, craving for salty foods and darkening of the skin. Development of bands of pigment running the length of the nails

The blood pressure was taken. It is lower than lying down after he stands up; it is a sign of hypoadrenia.

DIAGNOSIS: ADRENAL INSUFFICIENCY/HYPOADRENIA/ADDISON’S DISEASE

Explanation to the patient

The adrenal glands are found on top of both kidneys in a person. They are shaped like a triangle and are about an inch high and three inches long. The inner portion of the adrenal glands known as the adrenal medulla secrete hormones, with adrenaline being one, which have an effect on such bodily functions as heart rate, sweating, and blood pressure. The outer parts of the adrenal glands produce hormones that deal with fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. Male sex hormones and substances that control salt and potassium levels are also secreted from this adrenal cortex.

Adrenal gland disorders come about sometimes when the part of the human brain called the hypothalamus is not able to produce hormones that are used to control the adrenal glands. The pituitary glands are also responsible for such hormone production and if they are not working properly then adrenal gland disorders can result. Troubles inside the adrenal glands such as infection or disease also contribute to disorders, with the production of hormones in too high or low amounts the main factor.

Addison disease is a reduced adrenal function; insufficient synthesis or release of adrenal cortical hormones; hypoglycemia and poor adaptation to stress as a result.

Your adrenals still produce enough hormones to maintain a relatively normal state of health, but stressful situations increase the need for hormones the malfunctioning adrenals cannot produce, leading to anything fatigue to total collapse.

  • Therapeutics/Results:

Suggested Supplementation/Treatments:

  1. Adrenal Complex (#TAC) , specific tissue support for affected glands, supports salt metabolism, helps normalize low blood pressure and low blood sugar

2-4 tablets/day

  1. Adrenal Liquescence (Rx) (#T1), will be used for 2 months.
  • Eco Pantothenic (#VB5E), supports adrenal function and promotes corticoid synthesis

2-4 tablets/day;

  1. Pro C Ascorbate (#VCA), buffered ascorbic acid; anti-stress; natural corticoid-like effect

1-2 teaspoons/day.

  1. Florinef 0.1 mg.

Once a day.

  1. Coenzyme A, as directed on the label. Needed for proper functioning of the adrenal glands, reduces stress.
  • L-Throsine

500 mg daily, to aid adrenal gland function and relieve excess stress on the glands, take with water on an empty stomach.

Herbs

  1. Licorice root tea yields adrenal hormone activity; use several cups of strong tea daily.
  2. Ginseng tea strengthens the pituitary/adrenal axis.
  • Astragalus improves adrenal gland function and aids in stress reduction.- Do not use in the presence of fever.
  1. Echinacea, to increase white blood production and to protect tissues from bacterial invasion.
  2. Milk thistle extract, to support the liver which in turn help adrenal function.
  3. Siberian ginseng, to support the body for stressful situations. 1 gr per day. Do not use this herb when you have hypoglycemia, high blood pressure and a heart disorder.

Diet:

  1. Avoid carbohydrate and potassium. Their tolerance are poor in hypoadrenia. The diet should be low in simple sugars, fruits and fruit juice, and potassium (e.g. tomato juice) and high in protein and unsaturated fats.
  2. Get regular, moderate exercise to support adrenal function and reduce stress.
  • Avoid from alcohol and caffeine.
  1. Do not smoke.
  2. Consume a lot of fresh fruits and green vegetables, brown rice, legumes, whole grains, olive oil
  3. Eat deep water ocean fishes, salmon and tuna, 3 times a week.
  • Avoid stress which is very harmful to Addison’s disease.
  • Notes for Further Considerations

The Patient has to be referred to a hospital for autoimmune disorders, cancer metastasis, genetic conditions and infections if any.
